Customer Story · High-Ticket Ecommerce
3,800 high-ticket buyers.
One iMessage line.
A custom-van builder sells a considered, five-figure purchase — the kind of buyer who takes weeks to decide. Here is what happened when they moved follow-up to a single dedicated Tuco iMessage line.
One brand’s actual results over ~3.5 months on a single line. A real case, not a typical or guaranteed outcome.
The problem: email that never gets read.
A five-figure custom build is not an impulse buy. Buyers research for weeks, ask a dozen questions, and go quiet — and the brand’s follow-up lived in email, where open rates sit near 20% and reply rates are a rounding error. Real questions about layout, timeline, financing, and specs went unanswered simply because the message was never seen.
Every unanswered buyer at this price point is thousands of dollars of pipeline going cold. The channel, not the pitch, was the bottleneck.
What they did.
One dedicated line
A single real-iPhone line sent every message as a blue-bubble iMessage — a private line to the brand, not a marketing blast.
Opt-in buyers only
They messaged people who requested a build, configured a quote, or were already in the pipeline. No cold lists.
AI-drafted, human-approved
Replies were drafted from the brand’s own answers and approved in a unified inbox, so buyers got fast, on-brand responses.
SMS fallback built in
Buyers not on an iPhone were caught automatically over SMS, so no interested buyer fell through.
What happened.
On one line over about three and a half months, the brand sent 6,007 messages to 3,848 buyers and got 1,216 replies back — a ~20% reply rate. Those replies came from 513 buyers who opened a real, two-way conversation instead of ignoring another email.
Delivery was effectively flawless: exactly one message failed out of more than 7,200 sent and received. Every buyer not on an iPhone was picked up automatically over SMS fallback.
For a five-figure product, a single reply can be worth more than the plan costs for a year. Moving follow-up to the channel buyers actually read turned a silent list into a queue of live sales conversations.
Straight answers.
Are these results typical or guaranteed?
No. These are one custom-van builder's real numbers over about three and a half months on a single Tuco line. Results depend on your list quality, your offer, your price point, and how fast and personally you follow up. We share the raw figures so you can judge for yourself — not as a promise of what you will see.
Who is the customer?
A high-ticket, made-to-order vehicle brand — the kind of considered purchase where a buyer weighs the decision for weeks. We keep the brand anonymous, but the metrics are pulled straight from their Tuco account.
Was this cold outreach?
No. They messaged buyers who had raised their hand — people who requested a build, configured a quote, or were already in their pipeline — not a purchased or scraped list. iMessage only stays healthy on opt-in, inbound audiences.
